Program Description

Lean and Lean-Sigma are quite the rage in the community these days and hopes are high that this new way of addressing business and clinical processes might be the path to sustainable gains in your organization. Are your employees versed in continuous improvement? Do you need to find a way to break through significant barriers facing change in your organization? Barriers such as:

  • How to build a culture that will allow employees to embrace the change process and make it part of daily work
  • Ensuring that improvements to existing business and clinical processes are systemic and directly connected to the strategic goals of the organization
  • Integrating and standardizing the wide variety of business processes that exist between departments or clinics
  • Implementing a business process that will allow your organization to become an organic system of people and technology providing superior service and thus ensuring that clinical and business outcomes are sustainable
  • Educating the committees that run the organization so decisions are made with complete knowledge of the "real work"

Our Lean Certification Program for Administration and Service Industries will help healthcare professionals overcome these barriers and focus on improving organizational performance and capability. The program will show you how to:

  • rework business and clinical processes to create a systemic perspective of your clinical and business process interactions
  • improve service levels for new and existing customers with no increase in risk or cost
  • improve productivity of your valuable employees by actively engaging all levels of the organization in the transformation
  • establish a policy deployment process that will ensure your improvement initiatives are tied directly into your strategic goals
  • complete process redesigns focused on the metrics most important to your organization
  • clarify and visualize the "real work" to make the consequences of polices and decisions clear to all involved

Lean Manager Certification for Administrationand Service Industries is a highly interactive and fully accredited program that teaches a carefully sequenced curriculum of Lean concepts and techniques, specifically for use in the service industry. Over three-non consecutive weeks, each participant will experience a series of learning modules focusing on Lean planning, deployment and implementation. In between the weeks of training, participants must apply what they have learned to processes at their own organizations and in subsequent weeks, present their progress and results to the class. Participants who successfully complete the three-week training and mentoring program, demonstrate successful implementation in their own organization and pass the certification exam are then certified as Lean Managers. (Earn 12 CEUs.)

Participants who have completed the program will be able to:

  • Lead an administrative Lean implementation effort

  • Perform an administrative assessment and base lining process

  • Create a detailed deployment plan based on the base line analysis
