Dear Lean Thinker,
Many organizations are finding that their broad method-based programs
used to create productivity improvements in the 1990s are played
out. The easy victories are gone but the conflict in the marketplace rages
on. We will only gain the increases in productivity needed to remain competitive
by executing our strategic plans much more effectively and with better
focus on the immediate.
What does your strategic plan look like? How many new tactical initiatives
are you capable of undertaking? With the annualized increase in productivity
for both goods & services in the U.S. running at a blistering 4.6%
(Business Week, March 22, 2004) will you be ready to keep up with the
pace? Are you running or just running out of ideas?
Regardless of the hands-on experiences you have had or the LEAN knowledge
you seek to acquire, the Lean Manager Certification Program is the way
to complete your understanding of LEAN and fill up your tool cabinet for
the future. Productivity Inc. along with the Fisher College of Business
at The Ohio State University offers this program twice a year on the universitys
campus. Qualified experts from the universitys faculty as well as
experienced practitioners from Productivity Inc. will present the program
over the four week curriculum. (Note weeks are not consecutive.)
As part of the certification process, implementation projects are required.
Routinely these generate benefits in excess of the programs registration
fee. Here are just some of the results achieved by the Lean Managers during
just the homework projects completed during the Certificate Program:
-
A $67,000 annualized cost-savings recognized just
after week one
- Lead time of 145 hours reduced to 47 hours a 67.6%
reduction
- Total cycle time of 620 minutes reduced to 270 minutes
a 56.4% reduction
- Inventory of 233,000 lbs. reduced to 57,000 lbs.
a 75.5% reduction
The intensity of the Lean Manager Certification Program will provide you
with the LEAN leaders that have the essential skills, a strategic planning
system and the fundamental knowledge to drive LEAN throughout your entire
organization.
Due to the interactive approach used in these sessions and the amount
of one-on-one interface each associate is allocated, the class size is
restricted. We can only accept 20 future lean manager candidates per session
and there are just two sessions per year.
LEAN Managers have been certified for companies such as Rolls Royce Gear
Systems, Duracell Battery, Zimmer Orthopedic, Volvo Truck North America,
as well as the U.S. Mint.
"I would recommend (this program) to anyone involved in a Lean conversion."
Dave Barlow, Duracell, Inc. Fall 03 LMAC Graduate
"Gaining the knowledge of the proper use and application of these
Lean tools is like trading a compass for a GPS."
Ron Van Wynsberg, L&L Products, Fall 03 Graduate
You can review the additional detailed information listed on the website
or download the brochure. Still better give me a call and we can talk
about the program in more detail. I have had the pleasure of leading all
of the prior sessions and would be happy to share my first hand observations
and experiences. You can reach me at 800-966-5423.
See why so many companies use this program to educate and train their
LEAN Managers and what the Lean Manager Certificate Program can offer
you.
Sincerely,
Michael Kuta
