Productivity Inc. Lean Manager Certification Enters 6th Year and Sets to Launch in Monterrey, Mexico
SHELTON, CT - February 2006 - Lean Management is the global standard for business systems of the 21st century. It's all about building capabilities. Lean requires companies to make smart use of their resources, especially the knowledge and skills of their people. But, for many organizations there continues to be both confusion and misapplication when it comes to actual implementation.
Productivity Inc. has responded by partnering with the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University (OSU) in the development and delivery of the Lean Manager Certification (LMAC) Program, a carefully planned educational and interactive program designed to provide middle and top-level executives with the knowledge and hands-on know-how to help them drive Lean principles throughout their organization - the very principles needed to maximize efficiency and company profits on a continuous basis.
The Lean Manager program offers a unique instructional environment that brings together the successes of the business world with academia's critical research and teaching resources, a level of expertise and instruction that help participants "experience" the Lean philosophy and its implementation methodologies. LMAC is the first of its kind to utilize the instructional expertise offered by seasoned business and management educators combined with the real world, hands-on experience of business practitioners, and held at a major academic institution.
Over four non-consecutive weeks, program participants experience a series of learning modules focusing on the four key phases of Lean implementation: Plan, Pilot, Deploy, and Integrate. In between the weeks of training participants are required to complete homework assignments focusing on the application of the techniques to operations back at their own facilities.
The program has graduated managers from manufacturing companies across a variety of industries including, Marathon-Catlettsburg Refineries, Appleton Papers Inc., Duracell, Lear Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, Snap-On Tools Inc., The U.S. Mint, Volvo Trucks, NA and many others. The program, now entering its sixth year in the U.S. will hold Spring Session on the campus of OSU starting in March of 2006.
The program, co-hosted by OSU and Productivity de Mexico, will be simultaneously launched for the first time in Monterrey, Mexico at the Cintermex Convention Center.
