Course Description

When initiating a Lean transformation new kinds of performance measurements are needed to support the long term success of your efforts. Lean performance measurements help involve and align the entire company with your Lean strategy and goals. Firmly based in Lean business principles, lean performance measurements help to focus and support your Lean transformation initiative from your shopfloor to your corporate offices. In this practical training seminar utilizing lectures, group discussions and interactive exercises, you will discover a "starter" set of performance measurements that have been tested and proven highly effective in Lean manufacturing companies. Then using the Performance Measurements Linkage Chart you will develop customized performance measurements for your organization that will convert your company's strategy and Lean goals into performance measurements necessary to support your efforts and bring you the success you require.

Learning Objectives

In this workshop participants will learn:

  • why Lean manufacturing requires new kinds of performance measurements

  • the Lean approach to performance measurements, a comprehensive set of performance measurements that are typical within Lean organizations including product cell measurements, value stream measurements, and plant (or division) measurements.

  • a practical tool for developing integrated performance measurements for your own company or plant. These performance measurements will fully support your company's business strategy, policy deployment, and lean objectives.

Who should attend?

Operations Executives, Managers, Supervisors, Lean Specialists, CFO's and Controllers - to get the most out of the course, we recommend sending a cross functional group from operations and accounting.
