Basic Concept
Studies have shown that 60-85% of sigma projects found equipment reliability issues at the root cause of the problems the Black/Green belts were studying. Whether we accept the high end or the low end figures shown in these studies, there is significant opportunity for improvement. Equipment reliability is an essential component of any process improvement program and can be the difference between reaching your goals and not. This workshop explores the integration of TPM and the tools of Six Sigma to provide a well ordered approach for total process control. Applying both of these methodologies in tandem presents today's most powerful response to achieving your equipment performance improvement goals while drastically reducing the causes of equipment/process variation and quality problems.
The TPM Six Sigma program:
- establishes a vision of equipment/process ownership and outlines the teams role in achieving it
- presents the tools and techniques needed for individuals and teams to be effective
- introduces team accountability that widens with the development of team members skills
- establishes an employee involvement process that creates a culture of continuous improvement vital to achieving sustainable results
In this workshop, taught using lecture, group discussion and simulation learn how the tools of Six Sigma interact with the pillars of TPM to increase equipment reliability.
Workshop Objectives
Learn how to implement a powerful approach for total equipment reliability and process control by:
- implementing the pillars of TPM in their natural sequence of progression
- using appropriate and focused TPM and Six Sigma tools and techniques for implementing the pillars
- applying structured Six Sigma methodologies with project teams
- involving everyone, working in natural teams, to focus on continuous equipment improvement (TPM)
- using a rigorous fact based analysis to achieve a new vision of equipment performance that results in improved customer satisfaction
