Waste Elimination

What is a waste? Waste is anything that does not add value to the end product or service and something for which the customer is not willing to pay.

To recognize waste (Muda) you must identify the stages of the process that create value and those that do not, and understand value from the point of view of the customer (so as not to spend time on activities that do not offer any added value from the customer’s point of view). The objective is to maximize the proportion of value added activities, while removing waste and reducing incidental activities.
